About Sumedh

Sumedh Physiotherapy today, is an established name in the field of child physiotherapy. In 2011 when we began our journey, our aim was to be able to help special needs children as much as we can to enable them to live a happy and normal life. With referrals from our esteemed colleagues that are pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, pediatric neurologists and orthopedic surgeons in and around north Karnataka, we have been able to conduct early interventions in many children’s lives to help them get better at their activities.

We have brought smiles on the faces of worried, frustrated parents; who all want their child getting better but lack the medium. Typically we treat diseases like Wry Neck (congenital muscular torticollis or CMT), club foot (Congenital Talupus Equino Varus or CTEV). Usually most of these require corrective surgery which is a last resort exercise. With early intervention or what we call “earlier the better” philosophy, surgery can be avoided or better results can be obtained with the same procedure post-surgery.

With early intervention, parental cooperation and quiet dedication; we have been able to successfully treat even the most difficult cases like children with absence of bone and malformation of bone who become independent by age 2, pre and post-surgery. We have also successfully treated cerebral palsy and Erb’s palsy cases; children who now have become independent. This has been possible only through early intervention program by commencing therapy as early as the first month.
